Funding & Childcare Support
Your family may be entitled to up to 30 hours of FREE childcare funding.
9 Months+
We currently offer up to 15 hours funded education and care over a minimum of 2 days per week. Children become eligible from the term after they turn 9 months old.
2 Year Old Funding
We offer funded places through the “Free for Twos” scheme provided by Kent County Council. This scheme provides eligible families with 15 hours of free childcare and education per week during term time.
Eligibility is means tested.

We offer 15-hour funded sessions in the following options:
- 8:00am – 1:00pm
- 1:00pm – 6:00pm
- 8:00am – 6:00pm
3 & 4 Year Old Funding
We offer up to 30 hours funded education and care over a minimum of 2 days per week.
- 15 hours are available to all children and are not means tested.
- An additional 15 hours may be available for eligible working families.
Children become eligible from the term after their 3rd birthday.

Funding Sessions
We offer both 15-hour and 30-hour funded childcare on a term-time only basis across the following sessions:
- 8:00am – 1:00pm
- 1:00pm – 6:00pm
Registration Fees & Care Package
A registration fee and deposit are required to secure your child’s place.
- Registrations of 6 months or less: £100
- Registrations exceeding 6 months: £200
Payment is required immediately and places are only secured once payment has been received.
We also charge a daily care package fee, which covers all extra-curricular activities offered throughout the week and year.
Childcare Vouchers
Childcare vouchers can help many parents save money on childcare costs for children up to the age of 15. Vouchers are available through participating employers.
Current annual savings limits are:
- Basic Rate Taxpayer (20%)
£55 per week vouchers
Maximum annual saving: £930
- Higher Rate Taxpayer (40%)
£28 per week vouchers
Maximum annual saving: £630
- Additional Rate Taxpayer (45%)
£25 per week vouchers
Maximum annual saving: £590
Each parent may claim up to £243 per calendar month.
Pegwell Bay Nursery accepts vouchers from all major childcare voucher providers and private company schemes.
Tax-Free Childcare
If you are a working parent with children under 12 (or under 17 for disabled children), you may be eligible for the government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme.
For every £8 you pay into your childcare account, the government will add £2.
You can receive up to:
- £2,000 per child per year
- Up to £500 every 3 months
Please note: Parents cannot claim Tax-Free Childcare and Childcare Vouchers at the same time. You must choose one scheme or the other.
