Pegwell Bay Rooms

Baby Bears Room
3 Months – 24 Months
Staff Ratio: 1:3
Our Baby Bears Room is a bright, welcoming, and nurturing space designed to provide a true home-from-home environment for our youngest children. Overlooking our spacious garden, the room offers babies plenty of opportunities to explore, play, and learn in a safe and stimulating setting.
Carefully selected toys, resources, and activities encourage curiosity and development, while our natural wooden furniture is designed at child-friendly heights to support independence and allow babies to freely choose their own toys and activities.
Each day, babies enjoy a variety of sensory and creative experiences, including sand and water play, messy and malleable materials, texture exploration, mark making, and sensory activities. Creative play is an important part of early development and is incorporated into daily routines to support learning, communication, and physical development.
Our experienced practitioners plan engaging activities tailored to each child's individual interests, needs, and stage of development, ensuring every baby receives the care and support they need to thrive.
Keeping You Updated
We use the Famly app to keep parents informed throughout the day. Daily updates include information about your child's sleep, meals, nappy changes, activities, observations, and special moments. You'll also receive photos so you can share in their nursery experiences.
Moving Up
When your child is ready to move into the next room, we ensure the transition is gradual and positive. Children visit their new room alongside their key person, helping them become familiar with the environment, routines, and new adults, ensuring they feel confident, secure, and happy in their next stage of learning.

Mice Room
14 Months - 2 Years
Guideline ratio of 1:3
Our toddler room offers space for arts and craft, messy play and role play. There is a cosy reading area for quiet time and song time. Staff plan fun and exciting activities for the children depending on their interests and needs. The children are taken outside to play in our large garden and their learning is continued here.
As your child reaches the 2 year old age group, alongside their fun and creative activities we also encourage them to expand their independence and develop new skills, such as feeding and dressing themselves and starting toilet training.
Similar to the younger age group we make a wide variety of play and activity options available to your child which include, role play, arts and craft, puzzles, reading, small play and singing and dancing. We also encourage sign language in all our rooms and practice this whilst we do our singing.
Creative play is an important part of a child development and is therefore incorporated into their routine on a daily basis.
Meal times
Your 2 year old is at a stage of their development where they want to do things by themselves, we encourage this by self-serving the lunches and feeding themselves as much as possible. We always offer whatever help they need to allow them to learn at their own pace.
Development records
Every 2 year old has daily notes recorded onto our Famly system. You will receive daily information about your child’s day and nursery. For example, how long they have slept, nappy changes, toilet training progress, activities and observations your child has made throughout the day. You will also see photos of their day.
Moving up
When your child is ready to move up to the next room, they will go for visits with their key person who will settle them into their new environment.

The layout of the classroom encourages exploration, communication and the development of relationships on all levels. Everything reflects a dedication to quality and to your child’s ability to do things for themselves.
